In 2022, the Highfields Library was completed and opened to the public. Surrounding roads and parking facilities were upgraded as part of the project. Designed and constructed by McNab Developments (QLD), the 1,300-square-meter facility was delivered at a total cost of AUD 14.8 million.

Library enthusiasts are now enjoying the space, which offers an expanded book collection, a dedicated early literacy area, study zones, computers, free Wi-Fi access, public art installations, and a landscaped outdoor area with views of the Charles and Motee Rogers Bushland Reserve.
